You rarely see me on film, mostly because I am more involved in all the behind the scenes of what goes on here.  For those rare instances that I am in front of the camera, I hand it over to Matt.

I am a hot blooded Brooklyn born Italian with family, great friends, a career and a normal life, but like all of you, and as I have found out all of my friends, there is a dark-side; a healthy and harmless one, but a dark side none the less.  The truth is in spite of what some may think, I lead a very very low key, normal existence some might think boring at times.  I spend hours in the gym, very strict diet, obsessed with physical fitness never do drugs (never did em), drink socially and my life can easily be a page from the script of the movie “A Bronx Tale”.  Yeah, I think you can picture my parent’s house with photos of the pope, candles and religious statues; you know those Italian mothers.

But when family gatherings are over, my workouts done and my lean high protein meals are finished I have been known to have a glass of wine or 2 and take some personal time partying it up, raising some hell and exploring that dark side.

This is the entire concept of The Muscle Mafia our underground and the sub-culture we created, said in Italian “Cosa Nostra” (our thing).  There are thousands of guys just like me all over the world who too have a dark side and healthy fantasies.  Here is where they get played out with trust and brotherhood.

This DVD and others that will follow it are an example of the testosterone driven aggression that just can’t be (and shouldn’t be) taken out on a girl.  Girls have their own role, but that is another story.

What happened was lightening had struck a utlity pole that fell across the road and knocked out all power and traffic signals. Everyone got out of their cars to make the best of what was going to be a long, hot situation.  As you can see from the photos we were on a drawbridge no shoulder, no way to back up, go forward we were all trapped.   All lanes of traffic in both directions on and off the bridge were stopped. I had my camera and took some candid shots for no reason. But later found that these photos would be an interesting part of another one of those situation with that you just can't make up!

Several cars ahead was a black SUV with about 4 young guys about our age and 2 girls that were sitting up on the roof of the truck sun-tanning (what else was there to do).  We all had our shirts off (except the girls) and sat around waiting.  We struck up a conversation with these guys and made some new friends:  Sean, Todd, Gary and Joey.

I then showed these photos to what we call here our “Inner Circle” or our “Board of Directors” for their review. I rarely talk about this elite group of site watchers but, "The Board" is an intimate group of website visitors limited in number but with special access. As a result of that we have DVD #36, which evolved into a very revealing intimate look into Nick’s thoughts about being here and learning about Muscle Worship as we do it here.  Many of you wrote with your fantasy “Night Out” with Nick, a private and personal muscle worship session.  So with a folder full of your emails and my camera I met Nick back at what we call “Muscle Mafia Headquarters" one late night after midnight to film DVD #36, Nick at Night a Private Meeting.

I open this DVD with his leg workout.  I did that because Nick filmed the leg workout with his buddy Brian from DVD #25 (another story to be told) and it was during that filming that Nick said he was going to drop Brian off, go to dinner with some girl he was seeing and meet me and the cameras so that he could give his fans and loyal admirers a Private Meeting they deserved.

The Muscle Mafia and musclematt.com have been growing since late 2001, and the www.privatereddoor.com since 2005.  Frankly when I first pitched the idea of photographing Matt I had no idea ‘our thing,’ this unique underground, would have grown to this level with no signs of slowing down. 

In all honesty my intentions were to create a venue for Matt and myself. Then we began to feel out some of our gym buddies and whispers among our straight friends and their friends began.  Slowly but surely, these whispers and this low key locker room talk brought us bodybuilders, jocks, and athletes who were curious about becoming crew members and sick and tired of working out and getting nothing for it.

However, once our sites reached their international internet popularity, the same talk was happening among guys all over the world on message boards, groups, blogs, and gym locker rooms everywhere.  Our sites have grown completely by word of mouth, which is a great compliment to the way we do things here. 

I get emails from guys from all walks of life, with all different situations that either want to be a crew member, worshipper or a financial contributor to our projects. Once one works with us on any level and realizes the integrity of our operation, he always tells another and so on.

I have added the Bullpen to the blog so that you can follow along and see who is coming and watch how they are separated into a worshipper, a crew member or a featured crew member. If you have been following our sites, mailings and our blog entries you already know Nick has made a series of Secret Videos that followed Jersey Muscle. We spoke about Nick and his secret videos in a previous blog Post check that out if you want to be brought up to date. This post pertains directly to the release of DVD #32.

Billy was watching for a long time as I shot Nick, he would see the photos, and clips of the videos he made starting way back with the workout scenes of Nick in Jersey Muscle. Billy made it known that he would like first crack at a scene, any scene, with Nick. He really just wanted to meet him.

After shooting his premiere Jerk-off DVD, #31, Nick traded our cameras for the stage when he entered and placed well in a bodybuilding contest. He always kept in touch with me and I always let him know that when and if he was every ready Billy was waiting and willing to shoot with him. I never revealt full details on what my technique is for filming or creating a comfortable environment for my buddies.
