With the help of web-Eddie, in 2008 we developed and launched an awesome flash based streaming theater set up at musclematt.com that delivers better quality, better security and does so to both MAC and PC users. The theaters have become the preferred choice of our movie buyers.

Knowing not only our movie buyers but, online movie buyers in general prefer the quality and ease of a flash based cross-platform system, Microsoft is abandoning the DRM system and no longer supporting it.

The Game Changes..Maybe it was the drinks but I rolled with it, and again I knew no matter what happened I could and probably would trash the footage. But this night, DVD #71 was most definitely a “Game Changer” and it altered the dynamic between Brad and I ever since. Let me explain…you have all read my first blog post way back when (The Making of Big Brad, When 2 Worlds Collide) This however, was yet another layer for Brad to sort out and I had to be very skillful at how I handled all this going forward. I have to be very conscious that if and when Brad was able to admit to himself what he was feeling it would be a WHOLE new head trip for him or would it be? You guys decide as you watch this one and all the future releases to follow.

Some of this won’t make sense to you until you watch this play out through many Boss and Brad films, Boss Cams and blog posts scheduled to follow DVD #71. It might make sense to some of you who have already watched DVD #64 Boss and Brad Men on a Mission; based on some of your emails and comments you could see all Brad wants to do is please "The Boss" and follow my lead. I purposely held off on the traditional blog post here because I let a few rules to be broken; DVD #70 changed things just a little and might open up some new ideas going forward. DVD #71 (not yet released as of this date) does the same and I was not sure if I was going to release #71, but it is appropriately titled “Game Changer”. There will be more about that once its released in a week or 2.

When Derek and I first spoke we kept in touch for nearly a month before I actually committed to film with him. Normally I (Carlo) stay away from guys who shoot for other sites and who have already been exposed. My films and my guys are exclusive to me mainly because of the great lengths I go through to protect their identity and because of that, I work with interesting guys that otherwise would never do this on film; it’s common sense actually. Derek posed a challenge for me. I really wasn’t sure if by working with a now “known porn star” would dilute our exclusive status and change the view of our loyal watchers. For this one some thinking had to be done on my part. I am the guy that makes the rules so I can break them as well; as long as breaking them still produces a film that will thrill our current fans and create a buzz to earn us new fans and loyal followers. I think this one has, and as you will read further down it sparked emotions in some that were more than passionate.

7 days ago I officially released DVD #70 Matt Pounds Derek and within 4 hours after hitting the home page of musclematt.com it went viral on blogs, and groups that follow us and follow others as well. Some never heard of Derek, but were fans of ours and others found us for the first time. Apparently other members or readers of those blogs, boards and groups saw the screen shots and trailers for #70 and immediately recognized that the Derek in Matt Pounds Derek was Derek Atlas. I warned him that would probably happen and he was ok with that; we knew it would create a buzz but from my stand point what would be the over-all tone of that buzz. Would The Muscle Mafia now be grouped in with other less exclusive sites? Would those that prefer the way I do things here be disappointed. My final decision was that if you truly have something different and we do, we can standout and shine in any crowd. Through my camera I expose the reality that exists in modern culture; that the lines between gay and straight are blurred. I have been successful at proving that normal guys who have healthy relationships with girls and who otherwise would be considered societies “tough guys” can get into muscle worship, can be worshipped and can worship another great body and still maintain complete masculinity and “tough guy” status. It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it and when you have a style all of your own you can’t help being respected by most.

Derek was very impressed with my movies, my photography and the websites and to use his words was “amazed” at the niche I had and the build of The Muscle Mafia; I saw that as an extreme compliment. Speaking to Derek was motivating; motivating because in addition to his awesome looks, he has intelligence to back it up and a pretty keen business sense. I may not agree with some of his choices, however, we have mutual respect and we both wished he had contacted me first before ever shooting his first adult film.

So the question remained and I proposed it to Derek, “What would you do for me and my followers that you have not done on film already and might not ever do again”. I told him, “Let’s take the risk and have fun with it” This is more explained on the actual DVD description page and the theater description page.

However, was #70 really a risk for me or more so for Derek? He was doing something he never did before but wanted to and wanted to minimize that risk because, like many others he trusted the way things are handled here. So we decided there really isn’t a risk when you let the authenticity of The Muscle Mafia do its thing and just let things happen as they happen; or as I often say let “Shit Happen!” Let nature, chemistry and the fascinating Abyss that is human sexuality just play out! Summer 2011, changes, upgrades and new crew!

It’s Mid-Summer and here is an update on what’s happening and who is happening! First those of you who are on our mailing list check your inbox for the newsletter that contains the Mid-Summer discount coupons!

There will be more to come on this but briefly here is what’s going down. Following our incident with “The Rats” and the fallout from that (see that post) we have been developing some new great features and better ways to deliver our online movies and provide loyal movie buyers with better benefits and rewards. www.privatereddoor.com will be redeveloped and soon all online movies will only be available through our Streaming Theaters at musclematt.com. The streaming theaters have become more and more popular and seem to be what our movie buyers prefer, so that is where we are and have been directing our efforts. Some may have noticed that our recent releases 64, 65, 66 and 67 are not available for download at www.privatereddoor.com but only available online as a stream in the streaming theaters at musclematt.com. That is because we will be merging these 2 sites to make it easier for movie buyers and easier for me to maintain. This will not affect Red Door lifetime download owners. Once the new version of our streaming theaters is released, sometime in the fall if not sooner, you will have to create a login and a free membership so that you can take advantage of the rewards and benefits we will be offering. We want loyal repeat movie buyers to benefit therefore your activity under a “so called” membership can be tracked and rewarded.

There will be more about this once we come closer to the launch of the New Theaters! For now just know we are, like always, working behind the scenes night and day for better more productive and more organized ways to deliver all the movies we have planned for release.

DVDs..
If you love getting our movies on DVD, let us know because how we offer DVDs will be changing. Some will be pulled from production and available online only to make room for new ones. Others will be gone entirely; again this to be all announced but if there is a DVD you have been putting off buying, get it or email me directly for a special package deal. We expect well over 100 titles by Christmas so we have to be smart about keeping stock and being careful not to run Matt down with shipping; we don’t want him to quit on us! The truth of the matter is that if sales for DVDs remain strong and steady, then the DVDs will stay. That is up to you, the buyer to determine. Either way our movies will be made and offered either just as DVDs, just online or both. That remains to be seen.

New Crew, Summer 2011..
Last summer, summer 2010 was mayhem, so much shooting and still some films that have been placed in the vault for a later date special release. This summer, summer 2011, I have divided and organized my time between the development of the new theaters and online security and filming. I, Matt, Brad, and Adam are all here and part of summer 2011 but so are a few new crew members. So while I write this blog post it’s only Mid-Summer and already there is a lot to tell you and a lot for you to see going forward.

A quick "heads up" on the guys below, Dominick and Derek added to the crew for summer 2011 and already filmed with some stories to tell. Both guys had their own reasons for being here and both had their own fantasies they wanted to live out on film for you to watch. Derek is a fitness model and has had involvement in fitness training and gym management. He will admit that being in touch with his body and not only knowing but living the hard work and sacrafices that goes into a body like his he has developed an appreciation for muscle himself, and not just his own. Derek has been photographed and filmed from head to toe doing various things, and recently became very turned on by the idea of doing adult films. What could be hotter for fan than to meet Adam, Matt and Dean; how about that fan getting fed all 3 loads? That is exactly what happened in DVD #67, Tag Teaming Corey. Corey was invited by me to come watch the summer 2010 photo shoot with the crew and service them after while I filmed.

This DVD was filmed in the late night hours after an all-day photo shoot. We took a break from shooting to feed these hungry muscle guys and power them up for the night ahead. Strong, lean and powerful muscle can get pretty cranky if not fed (and I'm including myself in that too!) We ate like animals, charged up and return to meet Corey who watched the night time shoot. Then the guys relaxed and kicked back for a few drinks before I turned them loose on Corey so that he could get fed a 3-course muscle cum meal done Muscle Mafia Style.
